This series fulfil two purposes - on the one hand they’re a way of thinking about provenance — how an image acquires authority through the right kind of framing and juxtaposition. It eventually became something more uncomfortable: about the gap between what a collage looks like it is and what it actually is. On the other, they’re all warm-up sketches. Each made early in the morning, and each designed to consider juxtaposition between image and text, and make each one playful, but deliberate.
